The Altruism Association announces the intention and vision to launch
an outreach personal development program for citizens in rural
communities of R. Moldova. For this experience, resources and
activities of Personal Development Center "Mirt" will be tailored
to specific interests and needs of the population in rural areas of the
country. It is planned to create and test a specialized program, which
will be organized in rural communities for 2 weeks in
collaboration with Local Public Administration, activists, NGOs,
churches, business people and local youth, involving 20 young people -
volunteers from the whole country.
The first Personal Development Pilot Project for the first
rural community in Moldova is planned to take place this Summer. The
basic concept is to promote aspects of mental health, good
companionship, and the attitude of hope among community members:
children, youth and adults.
Some of the Summer School activities are: tents camp for volunteers, day camp
for 100 children, workshops for teachers and educators, for existing
and potential local activists in the social, business, etc. areas.
In order to run the project succesfully, 20 young people, age
18-25, selected on the basis of competition, will be trained on how to
work with children. 10 specialists - volunteers, as well as
resources providing organizations - partners of "Altruism" Association,
will organize programs for the adults, which will aim to encourage and
share hope in the process of finding solutions to community issues,
especially children.
Local administration, economic agencies,
churches, other NGOs, schools and other community institutions will be also invited to participate in the project.
The first pilot-project will take
place in June-July 2010 in v. Step-Soci, Orhei and will be organized
in collaboration with local NGO "Center for Children and Youth" Emmanuel
".

In
order to gather the resources needed (7000 lei or
700USD/EURO) fundraising events will be organized during the
months of February until May 2010. Any person is welcome to help. If
you want to invest in the future of children, which do not have many
opportunities for personal development in Moldovan villages and whose
parents are gone abroad, then welcome! The first fundraising

program, which aims selling

sponsors of the planned events. You are
welcome to contribute!
International
and national actors, rural communities' activists, interested in
vision, are invited to discuss the vision for the future of the
project in villages from Moldova and abroad.
